Health Status of Adults with Disabilities in Michigan

Michigan adults with disabilities have a considerably higher prevalence of poor general, physical and mental health than Michigan adults without disabilities.

Michigan adults with disabilities also experienced higher rates of specific health conditions: diabetes, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, asthma and cancer, fall injuries, tooth loss, gum disease, physical intimate partner violence or non-consensual sex, and greater odds of major depression.
